diy diamond tufted ottoman

Hi, I\'m Abbie from five days. . . 5 ways!
Want to take a shabby coffee table and turn it into a gorgeous tufted ottoman, easier on the soft skin of the eyes and children? I did!
The way is this: I combine coupons with sales to get my foam and fabric as cheaply as possible.
I got 100% pieces of wood. pine)
The table on Craigslist costs $40. (
Also, I ended up using deep Espresso paint instead of leg stains).
The entire cost breakdown for this project is: coffee table: $40: Foam: $24: $8: Button: $6: Paint: $3 :: threaded needles for interior decoration: $8: nails-
Head trim: $12: Fabric: $15 in total: $116 the closest thing I can find like Ottoman is Ballard design for $500 (
10 square feet. /in. smaller).
I started with this $40 Craigslist 100% loose coffee table (
Get him off $75. -woot! )
And Shorten each leg of hubster by about 3 inch (
So I won\'t have a bar table)and drill a 12-
Hole diamond mesh for tufting.
I bought two bubbles of 39 \"X78\" rolls from Hobby Hall, each with a coupon of 40% for a total of $24.
I cut it into 39 \"X 39\" squares and stacked four of them on top of 38 \"X 38\" tables (
If you don\'t want to fight against stiffness, you can escape with less foam.
Once my foam was ready, I laid a 1 \"quilt on the top for more filling.
I don\'t have any photos of this part, but if you want to know how to prepare the foam for the tufting process, be sure to take a look at this part.
To add color to the legs, I had stains in the first place, but the pine trees on my coffee table were quite hard and durable even after polishing, so I changed to something called Cordovan Brown (
This is actually the paint version of the same name stain)
In the sample I got from Lao.
Work like charm!
I didn\'t even seal it and it was lifted perfectly!
Next, I put my fabric (
About 1/2 square meters. /yds.
For the size of this table)
At the top of the bubble, use a strategically placed staple or four (
These are also the reasons to keep the foam in place, so make sure you pull the fabric fairly tight so there won\'t be any sliding).
I use thread (
Turn it over, tie it)
Through a 6 \"interior trim pin, then connect the line to the metal ring at the bottom of my recycled interior trim button to match my ottoman fabric (
Be sure to use the real, extrasturdy kind--
Not the fabric store. . .
I found out from experience that they would crash).
Then I put the needle down through the batting/foam layer until I found the hole my husband drilled.
I tighten the thread, which in turn pulls the button down the foam, and then holds the end of the thread to the lower side of the table with several nails.
Your fabric will be \"po\" some on the edges, but when you nail them all down you will start to see the diamond pattern appear!
I used my DingTalk gun to fix the edge of the fabric under the lips at the top of the coffee table, creating the effect of \"muffin top.
No, I\'m not talking about TV.
One thing that makes my tufted ottoman unique is the custom fabric \"band\" which extends the length of Ottoman under \"muffin top.
In order to achieve this, I cut 4 fabrics of equal length about 6 \"wide (
The width depends on your coffee table)
, And pin them under \"muffin top\" where no staple food can be seen, under the coffee table, or in the four corners of the table. Finally, I (
Or my husband)
Make a small hole every once in a while along the bottom edge of Ottoman, and perpendicular to the corner, then take the nail head trim home with a rubber mallet.
It\'s time to hole first.
Consumption, but it is essential to ensure that the nails are trimmed straight and not bent ---
Especially if you and real (
In my case, full of wind cream)wood! You\'re done! Whew!
It took a lot of effort, but it\'s really worth it! (
When I type, my feet are supported on the tufted ottoman! )
